The Story Doesn’t End Here
Very often black stories that are told through traditional media are one-sided. Sometimes they even work to do more harm than good when it comes to preserving the richness of black history.
We intend on changing the narrative by creating content that presents truthful, positive, and compelling narratives about black families, entrepreneurs, and communities.
How We Help Change the Narrative
Much of the research available to and about black communities is biased and inconclusive. Basically, it doesn’t present a fully nuanced picture of black families, the struggles they face, and their resilience in addressing those struggles. Higher Purpose Co.® is using a three-tiered approach to address the gaps in black history and black storytelling.
Published Articles
Higher Purpose Co.® not only wants to change the narrative but control it as well. So, we’ll offer access to research-backed, written resources that present a more accurate depiction of black families and communities than mainstream media.
Oral History
There is very little that is more impactful than first-hand accounts from those who not only lived through black history but also helped to make it. Our commitment to documenting and sharing oral history accounts is rooted in the belief that you can’t know where you’re going until you understand where you’ve been. Our members and community residents have powerful stories to share. We will tell them here.
Positive Storytelling Content
To preserve the heritage of black families within the city of Clarksdale, we create updated content that covers a range of topics across various platforms. Whether it’s video, audio, or written content, our ambition is to allow easy access to content that is both informative and empowering.
