Ivory Cancer is a Mississippi native. Here, she received a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is also married to the beautiful Courtney Cancer, featured in the Human Rights Campaign's #LoveYourNeighbor project and Jamal Jordan's "Queer Love in Color," book of photography.
Ivory started her creative career as a child and diligently continued to find ways to do artistic work. She began as the Creative Director of Higher Purpose Co.® in 2016 and was promoted to Director of Branding, Storytelling, and Advocacy in July 2021. As a participant in national and international artist Jeffery Gibson's residency, she was featured in WonderLust, an art installation in video form, at the Mississippi Museum of Art.
Ivory strives to creatively live a life of harmony and passion. Whether visual, verbal, or written, artistic expression has provided her with many avenues to express life as she processes it. She aspires to creatively approach transforming personal experiences into creative works that could lend healing, renewal, and all things that move us towards better versions of ourselves.
